Mercy Chicago :: Living Well in the City

Mercy Hospital and Medical Center’s 42nd Annual Dinner Gala was held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the Chicago Hilton & Towers Hotel. Over 960 friends of Mercy enjoyed an evening of dining and dancing. This year's event was one of Mercy's most successful, raising over $650,000 through the unwavering support and generosity of our friends, physicians, corporations and business partners. We are most thankful for the leadership of our Event Chairs, Arthur & Joanne Velasquez and our Co-Chairs – Michael Cotton & Martha Farrell, Patrick & Jacqueline Huels, John & Jane McCarthy and Dr. Michael & Karen McDonnell and the entire Gala committee. Additionally, we thank our corporate and individual sponsors who were catalysts in helping us achieve this outstanding success.

We are also most grateful to Mayor Richard Daley and his wife Maggie for their Honorary Chairmanship and their attendance. Their presence and words were an inspiration to all who attended. Mercy is blessed to have the support of so many who are faithfully vested in the mission of Mercy.
