Course Description
The Jennifer Mudd Houghtaling Perinatal Depression Conference seeks to promote awareness of perinatal depression among health care providers and to provide education on the identification, intervention, and treatment of the disorder.
Course Purpose
The purpose of this activity is to improve identification of patients with perinatal depression and evolve the education of professionals involved with their management.
Course Objectives
Improve identification of perinatal depression among health care providers
Explain current and research methods available for management of patients diagnosed with perinatal depression
Describe the steps involved with organizing a comprehensive perinatal depression program
Provide information on the impact of legislative and legal influences on perinatal depression
Who Should Attend
Attending physicians especially in the fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine, APNs, RN/LPNs, social workers and mental health professionals.
Continuing Education Credits
For RNs
Participants will be awarded 6.5 hours of continuing education credits for this program by Saint Xavier University School of Nursing/Center for Nursing Scholarship.
Saint Xavier University School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
