Once you have been seen by a physician, your treatment information will be available to your primary care physician so you can receive follow-up care as needed.

Remember, a hospital emergency department or 9-1-1 is the right choice for potentially life-threatening conditions such as chest pain, head injury, severe abdominal pain, or severe bleeding.

Quicker Registration
To reduce your wait time, simply download a registration form (PDF file), print and complete it, and bring it with you to your visit for a more efficient registration process.

Payment

Most insurance plans are accepted; please call to verify coverage. Patients enrolled in certain types of insurance plans may be required to obtain authorization from their HMO/PPO, and/or make a copayment for treatment when they arrive. Self-pay fee schedule also available; most major credit card accepted.

What do wait times mean?
Mercy is making your Immediate Care experience easier. By sharing our average wait time online, you can now view what the current wait experience is in our Immediate Care centers and the approximate time until you are seen.

Posted wait times are the average time it takes from arrival and check in to the time a patient is brought into an exam room. This time frame is often referred to as the “door to treatment” time. Wait times are updated every 30 minutes during normal hours of operation. Immediate care wait times are provided for information purposes and they can vary due to many circumstances including large numbers of patients during seasonal illness outbreaks. As always, our goal is to work quickly, but thoroughly, so you receive the best possible care. We want to help you feel and live well again!

What about my “treatment time”?
Usually, you can expect prompt, fast service with an average of just an hour from check in to check out, but there are many factors that can change treatment time significantly including:

  • Large numbers of patients during seasonal illness outbreaks.

  • Larger numbers of patients with more serious injury or illnesses. When you arrive at the center, you will be triaged. Triaged simply means we evaluate patients as they sign in and take the more serious problems first -- even if that means taking them in front of other patients who arrived ahead of them. Otherwise, we take patients in the order that they arrive.
  • Patients who require laboratory tests or x-rays may be in the clinic longer while those procedures are performed.
Again, in all cases our goal is to work quickly, but thoroughly, so you receive the best possible care. We want to help you feel and live well again!
