Integrative Medicine & Wellness
Integrative Medicine & WellnessMercy’s Integrative Medicine & Wellness Program, conveniently located at Mercy Medical at Dearborn Station, helps patients to embrace their health and learn to live well. Offering a wide-array of integrative services, the program and its highly credentialed and licensed professionals, are committed to using these disciplines to bring healing and balance to patient’s lives. They are not meant to replace traditional therapies, but rather work with them.

Service Offered:

Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a therapeutic process that restores the body’s natural flow of vital energy through the insertion of tiny, sterilized needles into specific points.

Chiropractic: Chiropractic care focuses on the manual treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. We utilize patient-centered and evidence-based procedures to treat back pain, neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, work-related injuries and headaches. Chiropractic can effectively and efficiently help patients manage multiple painful conditions through hands-on treatment without drugs or surgery.

Holistic Nutrition: Schedule a session to learn nutrition basics and how to easily incorporate healthy-eating concepts into your daily life.

Massage Therapy: Massage therapy reduces the effects of stress, relaxes tense muscles, increases blood circulation, decreases chronic pain and strengthens the immune system.

Zero Balancing: Zero Balancing is a hands-on, bodywork therapy designed to balance energy and structure within the bones and tissues of the body. Zero Balancing helps patients relieve physical and mental symptoms associated with stress and injury.

Integrative Medicine Physician: Schedule an appointment with an internist who specializes in developing personalized care plans that use integrative and wellness therapies.

Gift the gift of health with an Integrative Medicine & Wellness Program gift certificate available for purchase at Mercy Medical at Dearborn Station, 47 W. Polk Street, Suite G1. For more information, please call 312.922.3011, extension 227.

Lifestyle Makeover: FirstLine Therapy

If you're looking for a healthy, more natural way to prevent or control health conditions like heart disease or diabetes, or if you just want to have more energy and feel better, FirstLine Therapy might be for you.

FirstLine Therapy is a personalized, physician-supervised, 12-week program offered by Mercy Hospital. It's centered on therapeutic lifestyle changes, and uses health education and FDA-approved nutritional products to treat and lower the risk for a variety of health problems.

Who is FirstLine Therapy for?

  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Stroke
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol
  • Metabolic Syndrome
  • Osteoporosis
  • Alzheimer's disease
  • Fatigue
  • Menopause

How does it work?

FirstLine Therapy is intended to complement, rather than replace, existing medical treatment. After preliminary consultation with Mercy Physician Connie Catellani, MD, a board certified internist who practices integrative medicine at Mercy's Integrative Medicine & Wellness program, patients receive a customized medical-food program. That's followed by six one-on-one Lifestyle Medicine consults with a dietitian.
