Dr. Miklos also sponsors a 1 month externship which allows students to experience office and hospital-based patient care. This rotation is approved by SCPM and is open to 3rd year and 4th year students .

Dr. George Enriquez has served as director of the Mercy Hospital & Medical Center Podiatry Residency program since 1984. He completed his residency at Thorek Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Enriquez is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a member of the Weil Foot and Ankle Institute. His specialty is in podiatric surgery, diabetic limb salvage and wound care. he has a wound clinic at Mercy Hospital and is also a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Dr. Perns performed his surgical residency in Podiatric Surgery at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. He then went into a practice with Midland Orthopedic Associates in Chicago. Dr. Perns has published articles in the area of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has been extensively trained in the reconstructive foot and ankle surgery as well as trauma of the foot and ankle and ankle implants. He regularly lectures on these subjects and has performed hundreds of foot and ankle operations.

Robert C. Miklos DPM has been in private practice for 30 years .  His practice consists of general podiatry to all age groups, with a special emphasis on forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction.   There is a large exposure to diabetic and ischemic limb salvage.  This discipline allows for a great deal of exposure to the associated specialties of vascular surgery, endocrinology, medicine and infectious disease.
