COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Jennifer Mudd Houghtaling Perinatal Depression Conference endeavors to promote awareness of perinatal depression among health care providers and to provide education on the identification, intervention, and treatment of the disorder.

COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of this activity is to enhance health care provider skills to better identify patients with perinatal depression and evolve the education of professionals involved with their management.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Improve identification of perinatal depression among health care providers.
Explain current methods and research available for management of patients diagnosed with perinatal depression
Describe the steps involved with organizing a comprehensive perinatal depression program
 Describe the impact of legislative and legal influences on perinatal depression

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Attending physicians especially those in the fields of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Emergency Medicine, APNs, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals.


CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

For Registered Nurses
Participants will be awarded 6.5 hours of continuing education credits for this program by Saint Xavier University of Nursing/Center for Nursing Scholarship
