Mercy Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program Receives Certification

Mercy Hospital & Medical Center is pleased to announce the recent national certification of its Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). Certification was awarded after completion of a rigorous review by the AACVPR and places Mercy Hospital on the map as a leading provider of pulmonary rehabilitation services. In fact, as one of only three facilities in Chicago to receive this certification, Mercy stands out as one of the top Pulmonary Rehabilitation centers in Chicago. “Mercy has always provided the highest quality of care to pulmonary patients,”, says Dr. Kamran Mahmood, Medical Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Mercy. “Now, with the AACVPR certification, Mercy Hospital’s role as an outstanding provider of care is recognized and certified.”

Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs provide care and support to pulmonary transplant recipients as well as those living with pulmonary disease such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, interstitial lung disease, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Patients learn strategies to manage their condition and improve quality of life. Mercy Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation program believes strongly in the empowerment of patients, helping them maintain their independence.  As a nationally certified Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center, patients can rest assured knowing they are receiving the best of care at Mercy Hospital.
