News Release-February 18th K.O. Breast Cancer Donates $2,000 to Mercy’s Breast & Women’s Healthcare Center
Chicago, IL: This month, Mercy Hospital’s Breast & Women’s Healthcare Center received a $2,000 donation from K.O. Breast Cancer, an organization designed to empower women: physically, mentally, and emotionally. The money was raised at their recent KNOCKOUT Breast Cancer Photo Shoots and will be used towards screenings for individuals who may not otherwise have access to quality breast care screenings.
“We are honored to have received such a generous donation from K.O. Breast Cancer, an organization that shares our commitment to providing quality care to women," said Eileen Knightly, Director of Mercy’s Breast & Women’s Healthcare Center. "We both understand the struggles and challenges that women and men face with this disease and realize the importance of early detection, building awareness and education for women and men."
K.O. Breast Cancer was organized exclusively for charitable purposes. Specifically, to support the fighters, admire the survivors, while honoring the taken of breast cancer. They plan to use innovative strategies to build awareness and educate women (and men) that are unconscious to this horrific disease, while also assisting those who do not have access to quality breast health care.
“After much research, K.O. Breast Cancer was most impressed with Mercy Hospital. Mercy’s program symbolizes everything K.O. Breast Cancer is fighting for; importance of early detection, healthy living, and quality breast health care," said Dana Russell, founder of K.O. Breast Cancer. "We look forward to assisting Mercy’s program and helping breast cancer patients thru this challenging journey.”
Mercy Hospital offers complete state-of-the-art digital mammography and diagnostic facilities to ensure that women of Chicago receive the very best in quality breast screening and treatment. In addition, through the innovative Whole Women, Whole Health program, Mercy offers free massage, acupuncture and yoga services to women recovering from breast cancer.
