Mercy Hospital & Medical Center Announces New Board Chair
Susan G. Gallagher to replace John C. McCarthy


Chicago, IL:  Mercy Hospital & Medical Center is pleased to announce that Susan G. Gallagher has been appointed as Chair of the Board of Directors for Mercy Hospital. Susan replaces John McCarthy, who served as Board Chair from 2006-2013. Susan assumed her new role in December 2013.


“Susan has been a dedicated board member for the past eight years. As previous Vice Chairman, she provided strong leadership and direction to the Board as well as the work of Mercy Hospital overall,” said Carol Schneider, President & CEO, Mercy Hospital. 


Susan is currently Chief Operating Officer for Patina Solutions, one of the fastest growing professional services firms in America, a firm that prides itself on its diverse and accomplished portfolio of specialized professionals-- all of whom have 25+ years of experience. Previously, she was Chief Operating Officer of True Partners Consulting LLC and before that she was a Managing Director and one of the 25 founders of Huron Consulting Group.


Over the years, Susan has been very active within the Chicago community. She was former Chair of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, and remains active on the board today. Susan is also a board member of the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, the founder and president of The Senior Businesswoman’s Forum and is a member of the Chicago Network and The Economic Club of Chicago. Susan is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana.
